POLICE RADIO RECORDING FROM DORNER’S LAST STAND

Police on Saturday afternoon shot and killed a man who fought with and threatened officers in normally peaceful Sellersville.
The peace and quiet was shattered Saturday afternoon when a man in his 20s went on a tirade, screaming at neighbors, threatening to kill them, punching cars with his bare hands and banging his head against street signs, residents along Clymer Avenue said.
By 4:30 p.m., the unidentified man was dead from a single gunshot wound to the chest, said Perkasie police Chief Joseph Gura. Perkasie police handle Sellersville police services and have for a decade, the chief added.
Gura gave this account of the incident that has shaken neighbors.
Between 4 p.m. and 4:15 p.m., eyewitnesses said the man, dressed in a sweatshirt and yellow poncho on an 80-degree-plus day, began yelling at patrons in the parking lot of a convenience store at Clymer Avenue and Main Street.
Three Perkasie officers, who were not identified, were dispatched to the scene and confronted the man.
“He was very combative and got physical with the officers,” said Gura. “During the physical altercation, the man did not display a weapon.”
Gura said he does not believe the man was armed. That remains under investigation.

SAN DIEGO — Members of the San Diego Tea Party have confirmed that their one-time spokesman is the man arrested for raping a woman on Fiesta Island, it was reported Saturday.
Kobulnicky was arrested Thursday afternoon, according to San Diego police, and charged with raping the 56-year-old victim on Feb. 25. Kobulnicky allegedly had spotted the woman as she walked on Linda Vista Road, offered her a ride and took her past her house to Fiesta Island.
The 6-foot-3-inch, 205-pound suspect allegedly pulled the victim out of the vehicle and raped her, then drove off. Surveillance tape from an earlier gas station purchase led to numerous tips identifying Kobulnicky, police said.
Kobulnicky, who is employed as a landscape supervisor, was booked into county jail for suspicion of rape, kidnapping and forcible sex with a foreign object. He was being held without bail pending arraignment, scheduled for Monday afternoon.
In late November, the police commissioner, Raymond W. Kelly, ordered every precinct in his domain to read a statement. Officers, the commissioner said, must “respect the public’s right to know about these events and the media’s right of access to report.”
Any officer who “unreasonably interferes” with reporters or blocks photographers will be subject to disciplinary actions.
These are fine words. Of course, his words followed on the heels of a few days in mid-November when the police arrested, punched, kicked and used metal barriers to ram reporters and photographers covering the Occupy Wall Street protests.
And recent events suggest that the commissioner should speak more loudly. Ryan Devereaux, a reporter, serves as Exhibit 1A that all is not well.

(Newser) – By the time they’re 23, almost a third of Americans will have been arrested: These days, it’s a “pretty common experience,” says the author of a new study. The data marks a jump in arrests over the past 44 years; four decades ago, a study found that 22% of kids would be arrested by age 23—a shocking figure then, says a criminologist. Now that figure is 30.2%, partly thanks to arrests over domestic violence and drugs—both less likely to lead to arrest during the 1960s, USA Today reports.
“There’s a lot more arresting going on now,” the criminologist says. The latest study is based on Bureau of Labor Statistics surveys of youths ages 8 to 23 from 1997 to 2008. Respondents were asked whether they’d been arrested or taken into custody over illegal or delinquent behavior, even if it didn’t lead to criminal charges. Years ago, minor rule-breaking was often treated less formally than it is today, says another criminologist—and that troubles some experts, since such criminal records can “follow you forever,” says one.
Reporter Gets Arrested At Occupy By Nashville Metro PD. (by TANG3LLO)
From the video description:
So I am a reporter for WRFN 107.1. I do a weekly Radio show on the Occupy Nashville Movement called “This American Life” Some of my shows are actually uploaded on this channel on youtube. Last Night on Dec. 3rd at approximately 12:30 I was taken into custody by Police for standing on the street “Obstructing Traffic” while trying to do my job covering a March that was taking place in the streets by Occupy Nashville. Police had notified protestors to “get off the streets or (they would) go to jail” Moments later they hopped out of their cars and started arresting people. I thought I would be ok since I was Clearly Marked via Press Pass! However, unfortunately, I thought wrong. This is the video I took of my arrest. You can hear me telling the arresting officer MATT EVANS that “I’m with the Press, I’m with the Press” if you listen closely you can hear his response “Who Cares” after I was taken to the precinct I was released outside of the booking area without charge once they found out my Press Credentials were Legit. However I was kept from doing my job as a reporter for close to an hour. This is yet another example of the infringement of the Constitution of our country by Police. When a reporter is no longer allowed to do his job something is the matter. There were four other Protestors that were also taken into custody by police. They were booked and then released with citations for Obstruction of Traffic.

My name is Kelly Schomburg, I’m the girl with the red hair in these pictures. I was protesting at the Occupy Wall Street march yesterday when I and several other women were sprayed with mace and subsequently arrested. Many have already seen the video, which has been spreading like wildfire over twitter, Facebook, tumblr, and other video feeds, along with hundreds of other photos and videos. This is my recount of what happened.
